About GAAPx
About GAAPx
GAAPx is an AI-native revenue operations and accounting platform for finance, accounting, and RevOps teams. It ingests complex customer contracts, converts legal terms into structured billing schedules, automates invoicing and cash application, calculates ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition, and posts immutable journal entries to your ERP — on one unified system instead of spreadsheets and disconnected point solutions.
GAAPx AI agents automate routine accounting workflows including non-standard clause extraction, usage rating, invoice reconciliation, collections triage, and dunning. Finance teams maintain governance through granular approval policies and exception workflows.
Documentation Tracks
These docs provide two tailored paths:
- Getting Started & Accounting Workflows — Core product concepts, contract-to-cash lifecycles, and compliance workflows for finance and RevOps teams.
- Developer & Agent APIs — Implementation guides, Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, multi-language SDKs, and REST endpoints for engineering and AI agents.
How Revenue Operations Flow Through GAAPx
Every billing and revenue operation in GAAPx follows the same contract-to-cash lifecycle:
- Customers & Contracts Enter GAAPx — Ingested via CRM sync (Salesforce, HubSpot), e-signature platforms, PDF uploads, or API. Accounts and parent-child hierarchies are resolved before contract execution.
- Products & Billing Terms Are Configured — Reusable Product Catalog entries define rate models and default revenue rules. Contract-level terms specify pricing cadences, ramp deals, and relative Standalone Selling Prices (SSP).
- Invoices Are Generated & Dispatched — Deterministic billing schedules generate draft invoices on schedule. Dispatched invoices sync bi-directionally to your CRM, ERP, and tax calculation engines (Avalara, Stripe Tax).
- Payments Are Collected & Applied — Stripe, Plaid, and bank feed imports match incoming cash against open invoices automatically, eliminating unapplied cash backlogs and posting cleared balances to your ERP.
- Revenue Is Recognized & Closed — Performance obligations (POBs) and revenue schedules decouple recognition from invoice timing. Month-end close locks the subledger and exports audit-ready journal entries.
- Reporting & Integrations Tie It Together — Real-time AR aging, 13-week cash forecasting, and GAAP waterfalls update continuously with direct links to the underlying contracts.

Key Operating Concepts
:::tip Billing and Revenue Recognition are Decoupled In modern SaaS and usage-based models, invoicing schedules rarely match accounting revenue. For example, an annual upfront contract of $120,000 generates one invoice on Day 1, but recognizes $10,000 monthly over 12 months. GAAPx maintains two independent subledgers: a Billing Subledger (tracking AR, payments, and credit notes) and a Revenue Subledger (tracking deferred revenue amortization, contract assets, and POB fulfillment). :::
:::note GAAPx is the Authoritative Source of Truth for Subledgers All contract extractions, invoice schedules, and revenue journal entries originate in GAAPx and sync downstream to your General Ledger (e.g. NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct). Edits to GAAPx-posted records in the ERP are blocked or flagged to preserve audit integrity. Payments settled via bank feeds or Stripe sync back to GAAPx for automatic cash clearing. :::
:::info CRM Customers Precede Executed Contracts In standard RevOps pipelines, CRM accounts (HubSpot, Salesforce) sync to GAAPx before contract signature. Once an order form is executed, GAAPx automatically links the contract to the existing customer entity, preventing duplicate accounts and ensuring unified credit history. :::
