# Usage & Consumption Metering

**Usage & Consumption Metering in GAAPx** provides a high-throughput event ingestion and rating engine designed for usage-based SaaS, AI token consumption, API request metering, and storage pricing.

## Ingesting Telemetry Events

Send raw usage events via REST API (`POST /v1/usage/events`) or streaming webhooks:

* **Deduplication & Idempotency**: Guarantees zero duplicate billing on network retries.
* **Rating & Aggregation**: Computes sum, max, average, or last-value consumption per billing cycle.
* **Prepaid Balance Drawdown**: Automatically burns against prepaid annual commitments before triggering overage invoices.
